HELP!



Okay, so you need some help with government offices, maybe lost your passport? Maybe you need information regarding money exchange or the International Bridge? So here are your information links:

Tourist Information

1. Money Exchange - There is an Ontario Travel Information Centre Located on Huron St. next to the Casino and kitty corner to the International Bridge. There you can exchange your money for US funds or vice versa.

2. Tourism Sault Ste. Marie Our Local Tourism Chapter for all your tourism needs.

3. Banks : CIBC, Bank of Nova Scotia, Royal Bank, Bank of Montreal, ING, Bank of Hong Kong, Northern Credit Union, Community Credit Union etc.

4. International Bridge Cams Need to see what the wait time at the bridge will be? Take a look at the bridge cams :)

5. Canada Border Services Agency Need to know about Canadian rules? This is a good place to start when you enter Canada and exit Canada. Our local office know exactly what you can bring across the border, so check with them prior to any border crossing

6. Sault Ste. Marie Police Services Self-explanatory really, but if you find yourself with a smashed car, stolen wallet or need general information, it's good to know where to turn.

7. Sault Area Hospital Cut yourself, broke something or need to visit a family member, this is Sault Ste. Marie's premier care site located off of Great Northern Road.

8. Feeling sick in general? There are several Walk-In Clinics just for this purpose, one is conveniently located in the Cambrian Mall , Great Northern Road; another in the Market Mall , Second Line West. Still not sure if you should visit a walk-in or emergency room? Call the Telehealth Ontario line and talk to a live nurse about your symptoms, who will point you in the right direction every time.

Local Information
1. City of Sault Ste.Marie (705)759-2500. If you need any information regarding taxes, parking, building permits, Council Meetings, Clerk's Office etc., please call their Reception Line and they will point you in the right direction.

2. Service Ontario Service Ontario kiosks make your life easy, and there is one in the Station Mall, across from Foot Locker. If you need to get your licence renewed, plate stickers, etc. then a Service Ontario kiosk is what you need. If you need to visit the Ministry of Transportation, their office is located on Bruce St. downtown.

3. Service Canada Here you can update your passport, get information about EI and local job opportunities.

4. Mayor's Office (705)759-5344. Gain insight into local politics, birthday or anniversary certificate requests and general information.

5. Local Member of Provincial Parliament - David Orazietti, MPP His Office deals with any provincial issues such as Ontario Disability, Provincial politics and any other Provincial issues. Things they do not deal with directly is welfare, municipal or federal issues.

6. Local Member of Parliament - Bryan Hayes, MP His Office deals with passports, EI problems, Senior Pensions (CPP) and any other federal government issue that you would like more information on. His office will also not deal with any Municipal or Provincial issue directly.
